You are here

Saturday, 2 February 2019 - 5:00pm to Sunday, 3 February 2019 - 7:45pm

The ever-popular Summer Sounds concerts will be held again on the first two weekends in February 2019.

Program for Saturday 2 February:   Annie and the Armadillos with Jumptown Swing

Change of line-up: Unfortunately due to a family emergency, Bewitched will not be able to perform at Summer Sounds this Saturday 2nd February as scheduled.

Luckily, Canberra favourites Annie and the Armadillos will be on stage making sure your year starts on an upbeat note. Jumptown Swing will also provide a dance workshop to kick off the night as well as getting you on the floor at intermission.

Annie and the Armadillos are famous for their amazing musical ability and a repertoire ranging from sultry jazz artists to today’s latest grooves. The front singer, Annie Sloane has been raised on a healthy diet of jazz and blues and has abundant energy, a stunning voice and a mighty presence.

Jumptown Swing is a not-for-profit organisation who have inspired and taught hundreds of students to swing dance in Canberra for more than 10 years. They run fun, friendly and beginner swing dance classes. Swing dancing is a great way to meet new people and keep fit.

Volunteers needed

Volunteering at the summer concerts is a good way to meet other Friends. We need your help, collecting entry donations, supervising parking and transport for disabled patrons, driving the electric vehicles up to the Eucalypt Lawn, and answering queries at the Information Tent.  More information about volunteering at the concerts can be found here.
