Claybodies is an independent collective of artists, based in Canberra, who share a passion for ceramics. Their exhibition Fired Earth, inspired by nature presents a diverse array of responses by ceramic artists to our natural environment, aiming to inspire an appreciation of aspects of the Australian flora and environment.

Connections between the earth and the Australian flora, and in turn humanity, are explored. Various ceramic techniques and materials have been employed. Some are wheel thrown pieces and decorated with hand carving, colours and glazes; others were hand built with a variety of surface treatments.

The exhibition Fired Earth: inspired by nature is on at the Australian National Botanic Gardens gallery from 1 September to 2 October 2022.
