Ian Warden, Gang Gang columnist of the Canberra Times, will launch the 2013 lunchtime talks program, with a Centenary Chat on Marion Mahony Griffin’s enthusiasm for Australian native flora. January’s theme is Family and Friends in the Capital, appropriately, given the extent to which Marion’s enthusiasm for our native flora is shared by modern-day Canberrans; they flock to the Gardens each January to listen to music in a setting of magnificent eucalypts.

Ian Warden describes himself as a Canberra writer and humourless native plant zealot and the only person in his street growing Eucalyptus crenulata in his front garden.
