Dr John Turnbull: Dr Lindsay Pryor and His Walk

Professor Lindsay Pryor (1915-1998) was an internationally respected forest scientist, botanist and landscape architect. John will discuss his achievements and how he is remembered in Canberra especially in the commemorative Lindsay Pryor Walk at the Australian National University.

John Turnbull is a former CSIRO scientist who researched the use of Australian native trees and exotic introductions. Later, as Chief Scientist at the Centre for International Forestry Research in Indonesia, he managed an international research program on tropical rainforest conservation and rehabilitation. He has been a volunteer guide at ANBG since 1999. John knew Professor Lindsay Pryor professionally for 30 years.
