This talk will discuss botanists associated with particular trees in the Australian National Botanic Gardens, either because they named the species or the species was named in their honour.  The botanists featured will be, British, French and German. They all made outstanding contributions to Australian science and their stories encompass adventure, mystery, sex and even murder!

John was a CSIRO scientist for many years and retired when Chief Scientist at the Centre for International Forestry Research. He has researched the use of Australian native and exotic trees in plantations worldwide. He has been a volunteer guide at ANBG since 1999.
