Recognising our volunteers

The Gardens and the Friends held a joint volunteer recognition ceremony on Tuesday 29 November on the new Friends Lawn.

The ceremony is an annual event to acknowledge the important contribution that volunteers make to the work of the Gardens and the activities of the Friends.

Library Connect, November 2022

This month's Library Connect has the usual listing of new books and a request for your input to the library collection development policy.  Friends and volunteers are encouraged to respond.The library is staffed Mon - Fri 9.30 - 4.30, but there are still restrictions on visitor numbers and, as the COVID situation is always evolving, please call 02 6250 9480 or email before visiting.

An historical overview of Australian botanic gardens by Richard Aitken

Richard Aitken has been invited, on the recommendation of Tim Entwisle, by the Commonwealth Heritage Forum to give an illustrated lecture as part of its ‘Botanical Gardens of the Commonwealth and their Built Heritage’ series.His lecture, entitled ‘An historical overview of Australian botanic gardens’, will be live streamed next Wednesday, 25 May 2022, at 8 30pm AEST, as per the accompanying link: https://www.commonwealthheritage.org/events.html#upcoming

The stream will be live but we believe the lecture will also be available afterwards on YouTube via the CHF website. The lecture is free of charge, but viewers must book via the link to participate in the live stream. The evening timing has been chosen to accommodate a wide variety of international time zones.
