The Growing Friends have just celebrated their 30th year of native plant propagation and sales.

A large gathering of current and former members watched as foundation members Doreen Wilson and Kath Holtzapffel propagated cake as the finale to the birthday feast. Convenor Maurice Hermann highlighted the group's accomplishments over the years, including the propagation and sale of over 40,000 native plants and the raising of funds for the Friends to contribute to the Gardens. Maurice spoke about the group as a way of fostering and spreading expertise in native plant propagation - probably the most important and enduring contribution it has made over the long term.
