Biography

Dr Ben Walcott had a long career as a Professor of Physiology at Stony Brook University on Long Island, New York.  He was also Associate-Provost of the university for eight years.

Ben and Ros Walcott moved from the USA to Canberra in 2003 and soon became Friends of the ANBG. They have always been interested in gardens and garden design and have visited many in the US, UK, Europe, Morocco and Australia over the years. They have developed their own superb garden in Red Hill, drawing on garden experiences locally and from further afield.

Ben helps Ros produce the Friends of the ANBG self-guided walk Flowers, Fruit & Foliage which highlights the plants in the Gardens that are currently in bloom, or displaying noteworthy fruit or foliage.
