Call out for new Friends Projects – due by 9 July
You are here
Members are invited to send suggestions for Friends funded projects to enhance the Gardens.
Friends will be aware that we fund numerous projects that support the mission of the ANBG and enhance the experience of visitors to the Gardens. In recent years these have included the exhibition in the foyer of the Visitors Centre, supplements for three PhD scholars, and the online educational resource Plant Science Learning Hub. A history of Friends funded projects is provided in the December 2020 edition of Fronds.
There is currently $75,000 available for new Friends projects and we are inviting Project proposals from ANBG staff and Friends members for consideration by the Friends Project Committee and ANBG Management in July.
Friends Members are welcome to suggest projects, big ($50,000) or small ($1000-$5000). If members have more ambitious projects (greater than $50,000) that they would like considered over a longer time frame, they are welcome to flag them.
While we don’t expect a detailed project costing, suggestions should be accompanied by an explanation as to how you think the proposal would benefit the Gardens and why the Friends should fund it.
Suggestions should be forwarded by 9 July to either the Secretary (Cathy Robertson, cathy.robertson@friendsanbg.org.au) or the Convenor of the Project Committee (Alan Henderson alan.henderson@friendsanbg.org.au ).
