The Friends of the ANBG 25th Photographic Competition for students has now closed for entries.

The competition was for students studying in Years 3 to 12 at Australian primary or secondary schools or colleges, or undertaking home study in Australia. It is an excellent opportunity for students to become aware of the value and beauty of the Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG) and, by exercising their photographic skills, to share that beauty with other visitors.

There are categories for colour, monochrome and 'altered' images. Winners and their schools will receive prizes, and the winning entries will be exhibited in the Gardens in September.

All entries must be digital photographs, taken by the student in the ANBG between 30 August 2024 and 29 August 2025, and featuring some aspect of the Gardens such as plants, wildlife or scenery. Entries close on Friday 29th August 2025.

Last year, 205 photographs were entered by 88 students, from 6 primary schools and 11 high schools or secondary colleges. See the winning entries from earlier competitions at https://www.friendsanbg.org.au/activities_schoolsphotocomp.
