Endangered Species Walks Sunday, 22 May 2022 - 11:00am to 12:00pm

Every year the third Friday in May is Endangered Species Day when people around the world can learn about and take action to protect species threatened with extinction. Join a free guided walk to see some of the beautiful Australian plant species that are endangered, hear about threats to their survival and learn what the ANBG is doing to help preserve them.  Daily from Monday May 16th to Sunday May 22nd 11am-12 noon.  Meet at the clock near the bridge. No booking required for individuals but groups of more than six people should contact walks@friendsanbg.org.au a week before the planned walk.

Mr Anthony Whalen and Ms Anne Fuchs ‘Global alignment of biodiversity informatics systems’ Thursday, 19 May 2022 - 12:30pm

Anthony and Anne, from ANBG, will talk about keeping up with published names and taxonomic concepts, including work that has been done for threatened species management, environmental assessment approvals and biosecurity threat monitoring.

Lindy Butcher and Corin Pennock ‘ACT Wildlife and its wombat programs’ Thursday, 12 May 2022 - 12:30pm

Lindy and Corin, of ACT Wildlife, will share some of the journeys in the care of, and the mange program to treat, the most endearing our wildlife.

Plant Science Group - May Talk Monday, 9 May 2022 - 10:30am

Talks are planned for 10:30am on the second Monday of each month, February to November, except when that is a public holiday. The talks will be held at the ANBG Theatrette.
