2014 Art in the Gardens with Friends
The 7th Annual Art in the Gardens with Friends Exhibition

The official opening of the 2014 Art in the Gardens with Friends Exhibition will take place in the Visitor Centre on Friday 21st  March, at 5:00 pm for 5:30 pm. Admission to the opening is by invitation only.

From 1:00pm to 4:00 pm on Friday 21st March there will be a special preview of the Exhibition for Friends of the ANBG. All Friends are welcome and no booking is needed.

The exhibition will be open to the general public from Saturday 22nd March until Monday 21st April. All of the paintings to be exhibited will portray native Australian plants many of which can be found in the ANBG Gardens.  Most of the paintings will be for sale and a percentage of all Exhibition sales will go to support the Friends activities.

Each day a member from one of the Botanic Art Groups will be available in the Visitor Centre to answer any questions you may have about the Botanic Art Groups or about the paintings. As well as the paintings there will also be a selection of cards and bookmarks for sale.  A beautiful painting by Cornelia Buchen-Osmond of "Lilly Pilly" Syzgium smithii will be the raffle prize this year.

The promotional material this year depicts two paintings by Kerrie Nogrady of Grevillea iaspicula and Chorizema cordatum. These paintings will be in the Exhibition. This year there will be works of ceramic art as well as paintings in watercolour, coloured pencil and oils.

As part of the Garden's Easter celebrations there will be an Easter Sale of paintings. For this weekend only, the last weekend of the Exhibition, all those paintings already sold will be taken down and the artists will hang new works. These new works will all be botanical but may not necessarily be portrayals of native Australian plants. These new works will all be priced at under $200.  This will be a great opportunity to buy a beautiful art work as a gift for that special person in your life and to support the Friends of the ANBG at the same time.
