You are here

Sunday, 3 February 2019 - 5:00pm to Monday, 4 February 2019 - 7:45pm

The ever-popular Summer Sounds concerts will be held again on the first two weekends in February 2019.

Program for Sunday 3 February:  Royal Military College Band with Jumptown Swing

Apart from its ceremonial responsibilities, the Band of the Royal Military College, Duntroon – RMC Band, performs as a mighty concert band. It is one of Australia’s premier military bands and at summer sounds they’ll delight all music lovers. This celebration of the Big Band sound will be delivered with military precision.

The RMC Band will team up with Canberra Swing Dance Troup, Jumptown Swing, for a show and dance class not to be missed. Jumptown Swing is a not-for-profit organisation who have inspired and taught hundreds of students to swing dance in Canberra for more than 10 years. They run fun, friendly and beginner swing dance classes. Swing dancing is a great way to meet new people and keep fit.

Volunteers needed

Volunteering at the summer concerts is a good way to meet other Friends. We need your help, collecting entry donations, supervising parking and transport for disabled patrons, driving the electric vehicles up to the Eucalypt Lawn, and answering queries at the Information Tent.  More information about volunteering at the concerts can be found here.
