You are here

Saturday, 9 February 2019 - 5:00pm to Sunday, 10 February 2019 - 7:45pm

The ever-popular Summer Sounds concerts will be held again on the first two weekends in February 2019.

Program for Saturday 2 February:  Big Boss Groove with Canberra Swing Katz

Big Boss Groove knows a thing or two about getting the party started! They are fronted by singers Kieran Sloan and Toni Maxfield, complete with their smokin', dancin', vibin' horn section and a righteous rhythm section (you can't go past Bruce laying it down on the drums). True to their name Big Boss Groove's energy is out of control and the love of their craft is what separates them from the rest. They’ll bring you an incredibly wide repertoire – soul and motown, hip hop and contemporary numbers which will have you dancing all night!

To complement their big sound will be the big time movers Canberra Swing Katz. Known for their high energy, high flying performances and super fun classes, Canberra Swing Katz specialise in Charleston, Lindy Hop and related Swing Dances. Canberra Swing Katz offer group and private classes, showing you a fun way to get active.

Volunteers needed

Volunteering at the summer concerts is a good way to meet other Friends. We need your help, collecting entry donations, supervising parking and transport for disabled patrons, driving the electric vehicles up to the Eucalypt Lawn, and answering queries at the Information Tent.  More information about volunteering at the concerts can be found here.
