Weeding Work Party

You are here

Saturday, 1 June 2019 - 9:00am to Sunday, 2 June 2019 - 11:45am

The next weeding work party is a special one to remove Hawthorn weeds from the area near Pryor’s notable Snow Gums at the Glenloch Interchange, a core conservation area site in the midst of high volume traffic.  This small area of Snow Gum Woodland includes an ancient tree that is listed as a notable tree in Trees and Shrubs of Canberra by Lindsay Pryor and JCC Banks.

Meet: At the stile on the fence of Aranda Snow Gums at the corner of William Hovell and Caswell Drives. Park your car near Black Mountain Reserve Car Park.

If driving from Civic or the south towards Belconnen; follow the brown signs at Glenloch Interchange and turn right towards the car park.

If coming from Belconnen; drive from the intersection of William Hovell Drive and Bindubi Street towards the city, follow the brown sign at Glenloch Interchange and turn left towards the car park.

Bring:  Enthusiasm, your family and friends, water, (and your favourite pruning saw and/or loppers, if you wish). Everyone is welcome.

Wear: Hat, sunscreen, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, gloves, stout shoes.

Our delicious morning tea will be about 10.30am

Please book: if you are planning to come, please email your name and phone number on this occasion to cathikin@gmail.com  or phone 0406 976 751 as this helps with the catering.

Also, having your contact number helps us to let you know if arrangements need to change at the last minute (for example, adverse weather conditions).
