Monday, 11 July 2022 - 10:30am to 11:30am

There will be a Plant Science Group talk on Monday 11th July, 10.30-11.30am in the Theatrette at the ANBG.  The details are:

Speaker:              Joe McAuliffe (ANBG Nursery Manager)

Topic:                   Ex situ conservation of a critically endangered fern

Outline:                This presentation will discuss the ex situ conservation of the critically endangered Dales Waterfall Fern, Pneumatopteris truncata, through a partnership between the ANBG, including the National Seed Bank and Nursery, and Christmas Island National Park. In Australia, this species is restricted to Christmas Island, where fewer than 50 plants are known to occur. This collaborative project has successfully established an ex situ ‘insurance’ collection of the Dales Waterfall Fern through targeted germplasm collecting, banking and propagation.

It is not necessary to book for this talk.
