Dr John de Majnik ‘Latest Research and Development for the wildflower industry of Australia’

John Majnikis the Senior Program Manager for the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation.  He is responsible for the Plant Industry programs which include the Pasture Seeds, Rice, Ginger and the New and Emerging Industries R&D programs.  John completed a PhD in plant science at CSIRO and the Australian National University in Canberra.  He has held postdoctoral positions with the Waite Institute in Adelaide and the CSIRO Plant Industry in Canberra.  He then worked at the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) where he managed R&D relating to varietal development of grain crops.  He then managed the commercial development and delivery of new products for the grains industry.  John has been a Senior Program Manager at RIRDC since November 2008.

John will give a broad-ranging talk on the latest research and development for Australian wildflowers.
