Lynne Bean ‘What is to be found in the Talbragar Fossil Fish Bed?’

This talk will concentrate on the fossil fish and plants from the Talbragar Fossil Fish Bed, NSW, which date from the Upper Jurassic, she will also briefly mention insects.

Lynne was a teacher of Geology, Physics and Chemistry for more than 40 years.  Since her retirement at the end of 2013 she has embarked on a PhD in the Research School of Earth Sciences, ANU.

Her field of study is the fossil fish of the Talbragar Fossil Fish Bed, NSW, which date from the Upper Jurassic, and comparing them with the fish from the Koonwarra Fossil Bed, dated as Early Cretaceous and located near the South Gippsland Highway in Victoria.
