Event Description

Rodney Garnett – “An overview of Panoramic photography”

Rodney has had a passion for photography for over 55 years, 50 of which were very introverted developing his craft through reading, studying photographers who he admired, and practice. It was not until after retirement that he started to engage with the photography community, through firstly the U3A and this year he joined the South Side Camera Club. The last two years he has presented a 10-week course on Photography for Travellers through the U3A.

“Teaching was a wonderful discipline for reviewing what I had learned over 50 years and deciding what was important. I am now focusing more on my photographic legacy, assembling a portfolio and writing the story behind the photos. I will continue to produce photo books and a return to printing is on the bucket list.”

In an overview of Panoramic photography he will touch on their evolution, what works and the equipment behind them.  He will concentrate on the technique of stitching images and its application beyond just panoramic. He will demonstrate nodal point rotation and other essentials for exceptional quality stitched panoramas.  Then a look at stitching software and in in particular the tools in Lightroom, Photoshop and ON1 Photo Raw.

Venue: ANBG Theatrette, opposite the Visitor Information Centre.
