Find a Plant App

This app will help you locate specific plants held in publicly accessible sections of the Gardens. It can be very useful when looking for a plant suitable for your own garden or ideas about groupings of plants.

The data links various record systems across the Gardens, and uses the information that is displayed on the aluminium tag attached to the base of each plant. Together with the full plant name and section number, the tag shows the unique accession number for that plant.

So you can find all plants within a section, or search for the location(s) of a specific plant by using the accession number. When areas are replanted, or a plant dies, the records may sometimes take a little while to catch up.

Find a Plant is at https://www.anbg.gov.au/fap. The app should be accessible on any web browser, including mobile phones, but works best on Google Chrome or Firefox.

Development of this app was supported by the Friends financially and through volunteer input.

The ‘Find a Plant’ app provides access to the Living Collection database on any web browser, including mobile phones
