Nigel England (CSIRO – Australian Tree Seed Centre) will be facilitating a plant recognition workshop on the Eucalyptus family, focussing on practical identification tips and useful botanical features and terminology.
Nigel will demonstrate the use of EUCLID – an interactive, comprehensive identification tool and information system for Australian eucalypts (genera Eucalyptus, Corymbia, and Angophora). Developed by the Centre for Australian National Biodiversity Research, it uses Lucid software to help identify over 900 species using whatever features are available to you
Nigel is based at the Black Mountain Laboratories in Canberra, is a Research Technician specializing in tree breeding and forest seed management. Nigel has expertise in forestry trial management, seed collection, and propagation, with a strong focus on Eucalyptus species.
When: Monday 17 August 13.30 – 3.30pm including extra time to practice if you wish.
