Event Description

The Australian Lamiaceae are a large family of plants, including Prostanthera, Westringia and Plectranthous, which are well represented in the ANBG collection. This workshop will assist participants to:

  • Recognise key characteristics of the Lamiaceae family
  • Use a simple identification key to distinguish important family members
  • Identify key genera and species.

Dr Veronica Briceno Rodriguez is the Conservation Horticulture Manager at the Gardens, where she leads the development of the ANBG Threatened Species Conservation Framework and oversees the Living Collection Strategy. Her work brings together research, policy, and practical conservation to deliver meaningful outcomes for Australia’s unique flora.

When: Thursday, 17 September, 1:30-3:30pm, including extra time to practice if you wish
Where: Daniel Solander Room, Banksia Centre
