Event Description

Bugs In My Backyard Week is coming up from 16-22 November.

Bug Hunt on Black Mountain
9:30am to 11:00am Sunday 22 November 2026

The national springtime snapshot of bugs is 16-22 November 2026. Led by the Invasive Species Council and Invertebrates Australia, this national citizen science initiative encourages communities to record local invertebrates using iNaturalist. Let’s hunt for bugs on Black Mountain as part of this national program with Kim Pullen, who is involved with the Australian National Insect Collection.

Will we see ants, beetles, butterflies, spiders, wasps or other bugs? Will we upload snapshots of the insects onto iNaturalist?

Generally easy ramble with some steep sections.

Further information about the Bug Hunt is at  BUGS IN MY BACKYARD WEEK – Bug Hunt
