Many species are planted in the Botanic Gardens, especially the garden outside the Banksia Centre that features species from WA. Dr Rosemary Purdie (Honorary Associate, Australian National Herbarium) will explain key identification features and terminology commonly used in flora keys, and depending on what’s in flower at the time in ANBG, will have selected samples available for participants to work with. Binocular microscopes, hand lenses and other aids for identification will be available for the workshop.
