The Friends’ 38th Annual General Meeting

All members are cordially invited to attend the 38^th Annual General Meeting of the Friends of the ANBG on Thursday 15 October at 3pm in the Gardens’ Theatrette. For catering purposes please register your attendance. Apologies can also be sent – see below.

When: Thursday 15 October, 2.45 pm for 3 pm start
Where: ANBG Theatrette and refreshments afterwards in the Celia Rosser Room, Banksia Centre.

AGM tiny tours
Volunteers will be available following the AGM to guide a tiny tour for members to view some new Friends’ funded projects nearby. They will also offer to assist members to the venue for the refreshments at the Celia Rosser Room at the Banksia Centre.  The tiny tours will include the Flora Explorer Custom Shelter, the Growing Friends plant nursery and a demonstration of the new Projection microscope. The Student Photographic Exhibition will also be accessible in the Banksia Garden, behind the Banksia Centre. Photographs and art works by members of the Photographic Groups and the Botanic Art Group will be on display.

AGM Agenda
On the agenda will be the election for President, Vice President and Secretary and one member of Council. If a current member of Council nominates for and is elected to another vacant position, there will be an additional vacancy for an Ordinary Member.

The agenda will include reports from Dr Matthew Parker, Director ANBG, Science and ANBG, Parks Australia; Linda Beveridge, Friends President and Dr Rod King, Friends Treasurer.

The Flora Explorer bus will be available for members requiring special assistance to reach the Celia Rosser Room in the Banksia Centre after the tours.

Nominations for Council vacancies
Call for nominations for vacant positions on Council
Nominations are being sought for President, Vice President, Secretary and one ordinary member of Council. The term of office for these positions is from November 2026 to October 2028.

Are you a scientist, a chartered accountant, a bookkeeper or an IT specialist with a love for the ANBG? Do you have other skills and experience that might be helpful for the Council of the Friends of the ANBG? If so, please consider nominating for the Council.
