The Illawarra-Shoalhaven shrubland ecological community is dependent on the underlying substrate and provides a significant linkage between the rainforests and woodlands.
Abstract
The Illawarra-Shoalhaven shrubland ecological community occurs on exposed ridgetops and slopes from the Great Eastern Escarpment to the sea between Wollongong and Batemans Bay. They are dependent on the underlying substrate formed over 66 million years ago and provide a significant linkage between the rainforests and woodlands of this increasingly developed landscape.
